We are using Jenkins and git manage Splunk configurations. Splunk is entirely deployed via DevOps tools. We are looking for a tool to lint Splunk config files before merging into master.15 votes

In my opinion django tags are missing some features, but they are step into right direction, our dashboards are loading much, much faster since we are using them, keep up the good work! :)5 votes
Add a sample splunk installation to dev site that anybody can access that is prepopulated with logs from an imaginary typical app.

Changing to under review as we might do some of this in the future.
IT would be great to be able to allow splunk to upload externally edited saved searches, reports, dashboards and even entire applications. Either directly through the port 8000 UI or the 8089 rest interface. This way a team could version control their knowledgeable base of saved Splunk goodness.
This kind of interface would make it trivial to fix, or restore searches and custom xml dashboard's when fat fingers or errant deletions occur by using version control to manage splunk application content. Much more elegantly than zip files and manually copying or screen scraping dashboard xml content.1 vote
